The world’s oceans, as well as the people who depend on them, are under more stress than ever before. Climate change, sea level rise, acidification, coastal development and pollution are just a few of the myriad issues affecting the worlds marine environments.

Dalhousie’s Marine Affairs Program provides an enquiring, stimulating and interdisciplinary learning environment. It is our goal to better understand the sustainable use and conservation of the world’s coastal and ocean environments. Students participating in the 16 month Master of Marine Management (MMM) degree are drawn from diverse academic backgrounds that include natural sciences, social sciences, engineering or the humanities. As they proceed with their program they gradually develop an interdisciplinary perspective on some of the most important issues that currently face the global marine community.

Dalhousie’s Marine Affairs Program is unique, providing students with technical capacity and professional development activities that lead to MMM graduates with leadership skills that include communication, collaboration and critical thinking.
