The Nansen Tutu Center summer school on Ocean, Climate and Marine Ecosystem, co-sponsored by PREFACE, ResClim, CLIVAR and BMBF SACUS Spaces, among others, will focus on Agulhas Current, the Benguela upwelling system and the Tropical Atlantic and will deal with field observations, remote sensing and modelling. It fits in with the new CLIVAR Research Focus:  Marine Biophysical Interactions and Dynamics of Upwelling Systems.

30 students will attend lectures given by local and overseas scientists, many being affiliated to CLIVAR. Social activities will be plentiful to promote and strengthen interaction between students and scientists.
