IMBER News

The 6th IMBER Scientific Steering Committee (SSC) Meeting was held in Paris (France) on 2-5 June 2009. Minutes of the meeting will be available soon.

The first IMBER/SOLAS French Meeting was held on 22-23 June 2009 in Paris (France). The purpose was to present the IMBER and SOLAS programmes to the French marine science community and to highlight potential collaborations. 60 scientists attended this successful meeting. Some of the presentations are available at http://www.imber.info/IMBER_SOLAS_Programme.html.

New Publications

It is our pleasure to announce that the Special Issue on Surface Ocean CO2 Variability and Vulnerabilities - Volume 56, Issues 8-10, Pages 503-674, April 2009 is now published.

The book is the result of collaboration between the Joint Global Flux Study (JGOFS) and Land-Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone (LOICZ) projects through the Continental Margins Task Team (CMTT) and is written by 188 contributors.

The Roscoff Culture Collection (RCC) in France and the Culture Collection for Algae and Protozoa (CCAP) in Oban, UK are members of the ASSEMBLE EU FP7 research infrastructure network which has been recently launched and which offers on-site and remote access for European research groups to conduct marine research projects.
Under ASSEMBLE, European teams may write short proposals to obtain 10 or more cultured strains from either RCC or CCAP free of charge (except shipment costs).
