COST Action ES0801 'The oceanic chemistry of bioactive trace elements and paleoclimate proxies'
COST Action ES0801 offers funding for 8 scientists to visit and collaborate with other researchers for periods of 1 week to 3 months (budget up to 2500 €).
Deadlines for application: 1 June and 1 November 2009
These trips should involve training or exchange of analytical expertise in areas related to marine trace elements and isotope chemistry and must be undertaken before the end of May 2010.

The NOAA Global Carbon Cycle Program is now soliciting letters of intent (LOIs) in preparation for the FY 2010 funding announcement, which will be released in early July. LOIs must be submitted by 12 June 2009 at 5 PM (Eastern Time).
LOI submission instructions and details on program goals and priorities.
When available, the full funding announcement will be posted on the OCB website at http://www.us-ocb.org/meetings/index.html#funding.
The ICED programme is in the process of developing an interactive map in Google Earth to represent Southern Ocean ecosystem and related research (including physical and biogeochemical aspects).

Community review of 'Guide to Best Practices in Ocean Acidification Research and Data Reporting' now open until 15 July 2009
The Guide to Best Practices in Ocean Acidification Research and Data Reporting is intended as a reference to provide guidance for research in the rapidly growing field of ocean acidification. All scientists are invited to provide comments and suggestions on any aspect of the guide to the lead authors of the respective sections and cc to the editors. Lead authors may decide to include the names of experts who have provided substantial input to their section in the list of contributing authors.

Solicitation for ideas for OCB Scoping Workshop
The Ocean Carbon and Biogeochemistry (OCB) Program is soliciting ideas for the next OCB scoping workshop. The purpose of these scoping workshops is to provide the research community with a public venue to identify research challenges and to develop an implementation plan to address a specific research topic that falls within identified OCB priorities.
