Funding and collaborative opportunities |
| IGBP calls for proposals for new Fast Track Initiatives to address cross-cutting questions in Earth System science and gaps in IGBP research. Successful proposals will receive seed funding towards workshops with diverse international participation. Proposals should be submitted no later than 23 February 2009 to the IGBP Secretariat (wendy@igbp.kva.se). More information, guidelines and an application form are attached and available from URL: http://www.igbp.net/documents/IGBP-FTI_application-09.doc In preparation for the OceanObs'09 meeting (http://www.oceanobs09.net/index.php) in September 2009 (Venice, Italy), organizers have solicited proposals for community white papers (CWP) that address future ocean observing needs. The following link lists the current CWP proposals: http://www.oceanobs09.net/work/cwp_proposals/
Global Carbon Project (GCP) publishes every year an Annual update of the global carbon budget(http://www.globalcarbonproject.org/carbontrends). GCP is currently trying to improve its budget estimates. Up to now, the CO2 sink was only based on results from one ocean model. For future budgets, GCP would like to use the average of several model estimates. GCP is looking for groups that would be interested to provide global ocean CO2 sink results for this effort. |
