EUR-OCEANS Consortium 2009 call for 'flagships' proposals.
CAMEO Funding Opportunity: This announcement solicits proposals for the Comparative Analysis of Marine Ecosystem Organization (CAMEO) Program which is implemented as a partnership between the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service and National Science Foundation Division of Ocean Sciences. The purpose of CAMEO is to strengthen the scientific basis for an ecosystem approach to the stewardship of our ocean and coastal living marine resources.
COST invites researchers throughout Europe to submit proposals for research networks and use this unique opportunity to exchange knowledge and to embark on new European perspectives. Calls for Contribution
Solicitation for the next two OCB scoping workshops - Themes: 'Improve understanding and prediction of: 1. Oceanic uptake and release of atmospheric CO2 and other greenhouse gases 2. Climate sensitivities of biogeochemical cycles and interactions with ecosystem structure'. COST Action 735 offers financial support to students and post-docs in Europe for short-term scientific missions (STSMs) in qualifyed European institutions. The STSMs offer a chance for young scientists to develop data sets, experimental methods and air-sea gas flux product development. |

The first Southern Ocean Sentinal Workshop 'Monitoring climate change impacts on marine biodiversity: establishing a Southern Ocean Sentinel program' took place in April 2009 in Hobart, Australia. This workshop aimed to consider how to measure, assess and provide early-warning detection of climate change impacts on the Southern Ocean and how these could be used to signal future impacts on marine and other ecosystems elsewhere in the world.
The EUR-OCEANS Consortium scientific perspective document 'Building scenarios for marine ecosystems under anthropogenic and natural forcing in the XXI Century' has been released. |
