SOLAS/IMBER Carbon

The SOLAS/IMBER Carbon (SIC) working group is charged with coordination and synthesis of ocean carbon research. The SIC is divided into three subgroups dealing with surface ocean (subgroup 1), interior ocean (subgroup 2) and ocean acidification (SIOA). The three subgroups collaborate with each other and also have strong links with IOCCP.

Major scientific emphases include:

  • Carbon inventories, fluxes and transport,
  • Sensitivities of carbon-relevant processes to changes occuring in the ocean.
